Easter 2018

The girls woke early and nicely played in their rooms until a few minutes after 8:00 when Justin and I were finally ready to get out of bed. The Easter Bunny didn’t disappoint! I love the girls excitement as they rush to see what the Easter Bunny brought them!

Easter fell on April Fools Day this year….the Easter Bunny must have played a trick on these girls because the girls had carrots in one of their Easter Eggs!

These happy girls played outside with their jump ropes, bubbles, and climbed trees before breakfast.

We went to the 11:00 church service.

So grown up!  And look at that bow!  My Eme:)

After lunch, we took more some more obligatory Easter pictures.

Justin tried to recreate a picture from last year with the girls. It worked very well and now he wants to do this same picture annually.

Staged pictures were followed by the traditional Easter egg hunt in our backyard. And they are off! This year the girls had designated color eggs with some extras that were a free for all.  Avery was green/yellows; Emerson was blues; and Harper was pinks/purples.

At one point, Emerson had found all three of the large special eggs that she thought were free for all.  They weren’t but before we realized she had taken ownership of them, Harper thought she hadn’t found any of those particular special eggs.

After the hunt was over, the girls enjoyed the contents of 10 of their eggs!

Later on in the afternoon we rode bikes and Avery and Emerson took turns using their roller skates for the first time.

Oh yeah, and I did make Avery and Emerson practice some sight words too…even on Easter.

Happy Easter!!

The Calm After the Storm

This was the second year in a row that we gathered at the Farmer’s Vienna house the Saturday before Easter.  Allison and Sarah were there along with Jamie and Pete and their two kids.  Their older sister was there along with her husband and two kids.  And Lauren and Alan were there along with their two boys.  Eleven kids in all.  The kids had a great time playing with one another, hunting for Easter eggs, and of course eating Easter candy!  Both Justin and I had a blast too.  It was just good wholesome fun…great times catching up with friends and lots of laughs, and kids who are friendly with one another and who can now truly entertain themselves!  SO much FUN!!!

Easter 2016

The girls woke up a few minutes earlier than normal today in anticipation of finding what the Easter Bunny had put in their baskets.  He brought each girl their own jump rope, bubbles, coloring activity, and chocolate.  They were very excited!

We decided to go to the 11:00 Church service so we didn’t have to rush.  That gave me time to make pancakes and sausage for breakfast, which is usually a hit with the girls.  Avery loves the pancakes while Emerson and Harper are all about the sausage.

This year Avery and Emerson went to Sunday school during the service and Harper came with us since she was still too young for the Sunday school class.  That was fine by me as she wanted to cuddle with me the whole time and for one hour, she had all my attention and love.  After the service was over, we picked up Avery and Emerson (who had a great time and requested to go back to Sunday school again) and made a quick stop at Giant to pick up the rest of the groceries for the week.  We ate a quick lunch and then it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt in the yard.  We started in the back.  The girls were so excited that they ran out the porch door so quickly that it slammed on Harper and she fell.  She was not a happy camper and Ludmila helped her pick up her first few eggs.

Meanwhile Avery and Emerson were having the time of their lives running around to find eggs.

We eventually made our way to the front yard where the girls found more eggs and we attempted some posed pictures.  Avery and Harper cooperated but Emerson was not in the mood.   We got new mulch two weeks ago and our yard is so beautiful this time of the year with the cherry blossoms, even without the majority of the tulips blossoming as a result of the crazy warm weather we had in December.

We attempted to move picture locations a few times in the hopes that Emerson would partake.

We had a little luck at times.

Easter 2015

The Easter Bunny came through the open dining room window and left these baskets for the girls.  We assumed the peeps were left for Daddy:)Avery couldn’t wait to test out her new jump rope! After Church we tried to get a few pictures.  Harper did not want to partake and hung out with me on the sidelines at first.Emerson and Avery unprompted!Mommy and all her girls!Daddy and his girls!Waiting patiently to find Easter Eggs! And the hunt is on….they are off!Harper for the most part took turns being held by me and Justin.  Emerson made sure that Harper got her fair share of Easter Eggs even though she didn’t want to hunt for them:)Time to enjoy the jelly beans!Emerson made sure that Harper knew to only eat one at a time!Later in the day it was bike time in the cul-de-sac!Followed by a second Easter Egg Hunt of the day!Lots and lots of laughter present through out the entire day!

My Easter Bunnies

Easter morning the girls opened up their Easter baskets.  Here is my littlest bunny.

Followed by a morning excursion to Meadowlark Gardens.

Followed by an Easter Egg Hunt at our new home!  Happy Easter from our family to yours!

Easter Dresses

Easter weather was rainy and cool, not real good for an Easter Egg Hunt or playing outside in pretty dresses.  But we still put on our pretty Easter dresses and Stuart Weitzman shoes for an inside photo op.  The truth was if the girls didn’t wear the dresses and shoes that day, which were a shower gift, then chances are they would never wear them because the dresses were size 18 months (they are now wearing 24 months) and the shoes were size 4 (they are now wearing 5 and 5.5).  For once we actually got good shots of the girls together. Emerson’s hair is wild in these pictures….she had a bath that morning and her curls were tame earlier in the day but with the several outfit changes and nap, it got quite crazy!
