We took the girls in the big pool for the first time a few weeks ago. They were a little hesitant at first but by the time we came out of the pool, Emerson loved it.  It took Avery about two times in the pool before she felt the same way.  I bought them little vests to wear and goggles.  They are good about wearing their vests and the vests certainly help keep them afloat; however, they still have to be held or on a float with an adult the entire time in the pool.  Avery is better about wearing her goggles than Emerson although she tends to wear the goggles more outside of the pool than inside. 

We also got them a new little pool this year.  We tried the mushroom pool that they used a whopping one time last year and once they got in it, we could see that they clearly had outgrown it.  Their new kiddie pool is bigger and doesn’t have a cover so it is less restrictive.  The girls like filling their cups with water and pouring the water on the chairs,  adults, or any other object outside the pool.
